Safety Complex Building Committee
History of the Safety Complex:
- First phase - Ambulance facility
- Approved in 2003
- Completed in 2004.
- Second phase - Police facility
- Approved by voters on March 14, 2012.
- Building Committee held first meeting on April 12, 2012.
- Completed April 15, 2013
The Facilities Study Committee and its professional advisors developed a very cost-effective design that completed the Master Plan for the Brookline Safety Complex, giving our community a facility that will meet our public safety needs for many years to come.
This new facility was completed with minimal tax impact, thanks to the timing of three factors: low construction costs, low bond financing rates, and the retirement of current town bonds.
