Brookline History Committee

Update from the Brookline History Committee

The History committee has been active compiling our local history of the last 100 years in town and how to best present this information.  Soon you may see some excerpts of our work.  For now please reference the town web site (www.brookline.nh.us) for some more details as to what’s been happening and the information we are trying to gather.  Once on the town page, click on “Town Government” to find the history committee site.

I’m putting a special request out to all history buffs.  HELP!! We need some more people on this committee.  Please consider becoming a member and taking it upon yourself to research a particular aspect of town history.  Even though I’ve got many projects going on, I’m finding this all extremely interesting and fun to pull together.  It’s not work if it’s fun.

In addition to a few more interested people becoming involved with the BHC, we also need information you may have around your house. If you, a relative or friend has pictures of old buildings, areas of town or activities from the last 100 years  that you think would help tell the historical story of our town, we need you to send us that information.  All photos, newspaper articles or other data would be scanned and returned.  You’ll be seeing this request made periodically in the future.

If you know of a story to tell of something that happened in town, please get it to us.  We are gathering what we can but it will take everyone’s effort to make this be as complete a history as possible.

The History Committee has a new email  historycommittee@brookline.nh.us.

Or you can write to the  Brookline History Committee, Town Hall, Bond Street,  Brookline, NH 03033

Hope to hear from you soon.
