The Brookline WomanÕs Club invites the community to join them in their efforts to donate food for Thanksgiving baskets and gift certificates for turkeys. Every year they organize a food donation collection service throughout the community of Brookline for the local food pantries, including Brookline and SHARE.

Drop baskets have been placed at the elementary schools (RMMS and CSDA-Peanut/nut free), town hall, library, and TD Bank for donations from the general public. Donations will be accepted November 7th thru the 18th at the above collection sites. Donations beyond that date may be brought to the Brookline Safety Complex during the Brookline WomenÕs Club co-sponsored blood drive on November 21st between 1-6 PM.

The local food pantries need the usual Thanksgiving fare: pumpkin and other pie fillings, cranberry sauce (jelly and whole berry), canned gravy, stuffing, pie crust mix, muffin and quick bread mix, cake mix, brownie mix, frosting, pudding, Jell-O, canned peas, corn, beans, fruit, olives, mashed potato flakes, juice in plastic bottles and other non-perishables.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. The local food pantries rely heavily on the donations that they receive from our community through this food drive. The generosity of the community and the Brookline WomenÕs Club resulted in over 1000 food items being donated last year.

For donation of gift cards or further information, please contact Committee Chairwomen Joy Brett at 672-3228 or Susan Santoski at 672-5890 or visit www.bwc-nh.weebly.com.

From selectman D. Philpot - A new communication channel
Our ability to leverage the ideas and energy of the citizens of our town will help us preserve what is good about it and make improvements where we need to. To this end, the internet company UserVoice.Com has agreed to allow us to use their software to solicit ideas and discussions about the town of Brookline. The software is pretty simple and straight forward to use. If you have an idea you post it. If you see an idea you think is good, you vote for it. If you have some thoughts on how to make an idea better, you comment on it. Once the ideas are submitted, commented and voted on, ideas can be selected for implementation and tracked through completion. A communication plan to communicate the availability of the site on a broader and long term basis going forward is being developed. The site is configured for our use and it can be found at: brookline.uservoice.com If you have any ideas, share them. Ideas are the only unlimited resource we have in the town!
