SHARE Spring Food Drive May 10-21st -
Because hunger doesn't take a vacation....
Due to the decline in donations to the food pantries during the summer months, the Brookline Women's Club will be sponsoring a Spring Food Drive to benefit SHARE May 10th - 21st. Drop baskets will be placed at both elementary schools (RMMS and CSDA-Peanut/Nut Free), the post office, town hall, and the library for donations from the public. If you would like to make a donation for a gift certificate, please contact Diane Stephens at 672-5880. SHARE needs the traditional non perishable fare, such as tuna, peanut butter, pasta, sauces, condiments, juices, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, etc.... In addition, SHARE is also in need of donated paper goods (especially toilet paper) and personal hygiene products. Thank you in advance for your generosity. More details on BWC new website.

Blood Drive
The Brookline Women’s Club and Brookline Ambulance Service are co-sponsoring the blood drive on Monday, November 23rd from 1:00-6:00 at the Brookline Safety Complex. All donors will receive a $5.00 gas card from the American Red Cross. The Brookline Women’s Club will be donating $1 to SHARE for every pint of blood collected. Not only will you be giving the gift of life with your blood donation, you will also be putting food on the table for families in need this holiday season. Food donations to benefit the SHARE holiday food drive will also be accepted at the blood drive.

The Brookline Supervisors of the Checklist will hold a public meeting on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 7 PM at the Brookline Town Hall for the purpose of appointing an interim Supervisor of the Checklist according to NH RSA 669:64 in order to fill a vacancy beginning December 1, 2008. The appointment term will be until March Town Meeting 2009.
Brookline Boy Scout Troop 260 will be selling sand that can be used to sand icy places this winter. Sand is available to Brookline residents only. The delivery date is Saturday, November 8. Eagle Scout Car Wash, Saturday, July 26th from 9AM to 3PM
There will be an Eagle Scout car wash fundraiser at the Brookline Sunoco gas station on Route 13. All proceeds from the car wash will be used to fund RJ Hall’s Eagle project. RJ is a Life Scout with Troop 260 in Brookline . RJ’s Eagle project will involve building a 50 foot walkway in the Palmer Wildlife preserve in Brookline. The walkway will improve access between two trails spanning wetlands. Please come out on the 26th and get your car washed and support this worthy project.

Fourth of July Parade 10:00 AM
The Brookline Lions Club is again sponsoring the 4th of July parade which will step off at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery on the 4th of July. This year's theme is patriotism - i.e. red, white and blue. The Lions would like this to be the best parade ever and invite all those who would like to participate to please decorate your bikes, trikes, wagons, what ever and perhaps even enter a float and join us for a fun festive morning. The parade route goes from Pine Grove Cemetery to the Ball Park or Richard Maghakian Elementary School If you are planning to participate, please call Cindy Gorgoliojne at 765-2529 and let her know so we can have a well organized parade.
The Lions Club is also looking for a marching band. If anyone has any ideas of who might be willing to enter a marching band (or even a band we could put on a float) please contact Cindy at the number above.

Citizens Invited to Share Their Vision for Brookline
April 4, 6:00 PM at the RMMS Gym
Message from the Public Outreach Coordinator, Jill Simonetti, for the Nashua Regional Planning Commission. Brookline Community Vision Project. Working with the Town of Brookline to help develop and promote a vision for the Route 13 and Route 130 corridors throughout town, as well as the town center. A town-wide visioning meeting is scheduled and surveys and educational materials are currently available at a variety of locations throughout town.
Absentee ballots
Absentee Ballots can be requested as soon as someone knows they will not be in town for any upcoming elections. Come into the Town Clerk office at Town Hall and request an Absentee Ballot. The voter checklist will be compared to make sure the voter is a registered voter.
When the Absentee ballots arrive the Town Clerk's office will make ballot packets and mail the absentee ballots to the customer immediately with an envelope for the sealed ballots to be brought back or mailed to the office.

The Board of Selectmen will hold an informational meeting at 7 pm on July 23, 2007 in the Town Hall Meeting Room for the purpose discussing the reconstruction of the Taylor Dam located on lot G-28 on Cleveland Hill Road. The owner of the dam is Matthew Sawyer and is maintained by the Town of Brookline.

The Town of Brookline is accepting sealed bids for a 1978 GMC Fire Truck with 9,117 miles and 371 hours. Has a 750 GPM pump which passed pump testing in 2005 and a 850 gallon poly tank with suction hoses. Bids must be clearly marked "1978 GMC Fire Truck".

The Brookline Recreation commission is happy to announce that there is finally enough ice on both Lake Potanipo and Melindy Pond to have the 14th Annual Ice Fishing Derby on Sunday, February 18th 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Registration is from 6 -10 a.m. at the Grove snack shack. $10 for adults $4 for kids UNDER 12. Prizes for registered children will be drawn every 15 minutes!!
The lake has been stocked, and this is a no bass tournament. Please remember that all NH Fish & Game rules & regs apply.
The snack shack will be open selling drinks, snacks, chili, and hot dogs. We will also be doing a 50/50 raffle, we will pull that ticket after the announcement of the winning fisherpeople.
