Brookline School Board 2005 Openings

In March of this year, at the Brookline school district annual meeting, the residents of Brookline voted to expand the Brookline School Board from 3 members to 5 members. If you have ever wanted to give back to this community and weren't sure how, this is your chance.

There will be 4 seats open in 2005:

This might look confusing, but all four of these seats will become 3 year terms when they are up for election next time. The two new seats (this time) are 1 and 2 year seats to keep the board even, so we don't end up turning over the full board on any given year. The seat that needs to be filled is a three year term but one year has already been filled so for this election only it will be a two year seat.

What that means is that next year (2006) there will be two 3 year seats available, in 2007 there will be two 3 year terms available and in 2008 there will be 1 three year term available.

The current board would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

See this public notice for information about filing for these seats.
