Check out any children’s books from any category – Easy Picture,
Leveled Readers, Juvenile Fiction and Non-Fiction, Young Adult –
between June 21 and July 31 and you could win one of ten Golden Tickets!
Find out at check-out if you’re a winner! The more books you check
out to read the better your chances are to win. Golden ticket winners
can redeem them at the Summer Reading Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August
10 for a special prize!

Baby and Me Lapsit/ Toddler Time with Miss Vicky:

Birth – 2 years. Stories, fingerplays, dance, and music from 10:30
– 11. Children can freeplay from 11-11:30 while parents/caregivers
chat and share. Light refreshments provided.
Author(s) of the Month:
Stan and Jan Berenstain! These prolific and beloved children’s authors
and illustrators have created more than 300 Berenstain Bear books since
their first, The Big Honey Hunt, in 1962. Over 200 are currently in print
and about 260 million copies in the series have been sold.

Mime Rob Rivest (at Upper Town Hall Stage): Tuesday,
July 13 at 1 pm – All ages!
Catch the Wave! is a series of mime and comic stories about swimming,
surfing, sailing, and all around summer fun. This hilarious show is full
of audience participation and laugh-out-loud interactive pieces. A perfect
way to “make a splash this summer” and promote reading! Program
will run approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
Scholastic Build-a-Book Family Craft: Tuesday, July
20 at 6 pm – All ages!
Presented by Scholastic Book Fairs, the Klutz Build-a-Book experience
is a totally tested, totally fun library event where children and their
families turn a blank Klutz book and some simple craft materials into
a priceless family treasure.
Wonders of Water Craft and Activity Night: Tuesday,
July 27 at 6 pm – All ages!
Come “Make a Splash!” and join us for a night of wet and colorful
crafts! Make a rainbow fish, a shark hat, experiment with blowing bubbles,
then enjoy some watermelon, followed by a seed-spitting contest (weather
allowing)!

Book Drop:
Saturday, August 28 from 9am – 12pm (at Stoney Ledge Self Storage)
Come donate your unwanted books, videos, games and other materials to
the Friends of the Brookline Library. These items will be put in the book
sale, the proceeds of which benefit the Brookline Public Library.

Rosemary Wells! Rosemary Wells’ career as an author and illustrator
spans more than 40 years and 120 books. Rosemary is the author of a number
of popular children's books, most notably the Max and Ruby series. For

Grand Finale with Magician Peter Boie!
(All Ages!):
Tuesday, August 3 at 4pm (at the Upper Town Hall Stage)
From a five-year-old getting into the show and doing magic, to the hard-
to please-teenager, to the parents and grandparents that visit the library,
Peter has something for everyone. Once the show starts this amazing magician
doesn’t let you go for a solid 45 minutes. The show runs the gamut
from audience members getting into the show and doing magic themselves,
to award winning mind blowing magic, to side splitting comedy. Don’t
miss it!
