Melendy Pond Evaluation Committee (2017)

-A A +A

In May 2017 the Selectboard chartered the Melendy Pond Evaluation Committee (MPEC) to evaluate the future alternatives for the Melendy Pond property, including estimated costs and revenue to the town.  A report, including specific recommendations, is expected for the march 2018 annual town meeting.

Currently there are approximately 24 cottages on the small parcels of land around the pond.  The cottages are owned by individuals and are located on town-owned land.  At the 2002 annual town meeting, residents voted to not extend any more leases beyond 2020.  The current leases expire between 2018 and 2032.

The MPEC charter is available to the left of this page.
