TOWN OF BROOKLINE TRANSFER STATION
RULES OF OPERATION
(As adopted under the authority of RSA 147:1, RSA 147:13, and RSA 163B:3)
1. All dumping facilities are for the residents of the Town of Brookline only.
2. Transfer station operating hours are:
TUESDAY 12 pm to 8 pm
THURSDAY 1 pm to 8 pm
SATURDAY 8 am to 4 pm
No use of the dumping facilities is permitted except during posted operating hours. The drop off of refuse at the gates or compactor platform during closed hours is expressly prohibited. All use of the dumping facilities during closed hours is considered trespassing and may be prosecuted as such.
3. The transfer station will be closed when the compactor is full.
4. The refuse bin is for household refuse only. (NO metal salvage, brush or logs, dead animals, animal manure, tires or materials from demolished buildings.) Separation of these items will be at the direction of the transfer station attendant.
5. The Town will provide facilities for stumpage (under 5 inches in diameter only), brush and demolition materials. (This does not include cardboard cartons and other items that can otherwise be deposited in the recycling bins.) Under NO circumstances will household refuse be allowed in the stumpage area except at the direction of the transfer station attendant.
6. Salvage metal items, such as water heaters, stoves, refrigerators, engines and parts, barrels, radiators, etc., must be deposited within the transfer area at the direction of the attendant. Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed in accordance with state law.
7. NO dumping of refuse on top of closed bin.
8. NO dumping or littering along No. Mason Road or area where the bin is parked.

9. NO removal of salvage metal, recyclable materials, tires, waste oil, etc., is allowed without prior approval of the transfer station attendant.
10. NO refuse, recyclables, or other materials are to be left except in the designated transfer areas,
recycling bins, and/or compactor except at the direction of the transfer station attendant.
PENALTIES
A penalty of a fine of not more than $10.00 will be levied on those violating any of these rules of
operation. Additionally, the cost of clean up is to be borne by the violator.
Persons trespassing for the purpose of illegally disposing of refuse will face additional prosecution.
Disposal of
refuse, on other than the dump site, during operating hours, is defined as
littering and
perpetrators will be prosecuted in compliance with RSA 147:1,
147:13, and RSA 163B:3, and Town of
Brookline ordinances.
